The bamboo steamers allow the cook to prepare multiple dishes at once by stacking layer upon layer of bamboo racks. This extremely efficient system requires only one burner and one pan. Each dish (set in its own rack) can be cooked in its own time and as many racks as needed can be added. One set consists of two racks and one lid. 10 inch Bamboo SteameerI have been using bamboo steamers since 1970 and this steamer is like my old ones. Some do not have the bamboo slats woven together on the racks, but this does. Some steamers are very heavy and trap in the moisture which causes the steamer to mold or deteriorate very quickly. This one is inexpensive and does a superior job.
